What we do...

Tuition

Steps to Success offers bespoke tuition lessons across Key Stages 1-4. We specialise in English and Maths at a Primary level, including Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar and all three Sciences at a Secondary level. Regardless of your child's starting point, we are confident that we can help. Our tutors are specifically trained to work with children with Special Educational Needs.
How to get started...
Initially, we offer a one-off assessment session, in which the tutor works with your child to ascertain their starting point. After this assessment, which usually lasts around 45 minutes. The tutor will then meet with parents/carers and discuss their findings in order to arrange a way forward.

What our clients say!

REVIEWS

"Harriet has worked wonders with our daughter and we will forever be grateful for her continued support. Grace was diagnosed with Irlen's and as a result has struggled with her reading and had very little phonics knowledge. Harriet has been helping our daughter for the past 6 months and has gone above and beyond throughout the pandemic to ensure Grace remains focused and has continued support in a difficult time. She has not only increased her phonics knowledge, helped her reading level improve dramatically, she has helped gain confidence to read out loud. Harriet shows a true passion for education and ensuring each and every child gets the help they are entitled to for the best educational experience, no matter what level they may be. I recommend Harriet for any parent concerned that their child need some additional support."
Fay Whybrow
"Harriet tutors my seven year old son and my partners eight year old daughter weekly. She makes learning fun and the children love her. They look forward to their sessions. She encourages and inspires confidence and whilst gently pushing their boundaries ensures they feel supported in a safe and caring learning environment. Even with going back to school are children still want Harriet to come and tutor them. The change in their abilities even in a short space of time is phenomenal. We are happy to provide references to anyone should they require them and can’t recommend Harriet enough."
Sarah McAdam and Lee Brookes
"Harriet’s manner is encouraging, patient and most of all she made the tutoring fun for S, which really helped her engage and definitely increased her confidence. She always arrived on time and at the end of the session would provide me with clear feedback as to how S got on. S particularly liked that Harriet had little white boards and pens to use. The stickers and prize bag at the end of the sessions were a nice touch too. I would highly recommend Harriet to any parent."
